Extension to the National Rehabilitation Hospital

Modia Consulting were appointed as part of the construction team to deliver a new extension to the existing hospital complex at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. Modia Consulting were required to engage with specialist subcontractors in order to help provide a detailed tender solution as outlined in the tender process. Modia Consulting engaged with the main contractor in order to finalise a tender submission and subsequent post tender negotiations with the Sweett Group. As part of our service we were required to produce phasing documents, full bill of quantities, cash-flows and cost updates.

Project Details: The project consisted of the construction of a new steel frame extension to the front and rear of the existing hospital. The building to the front was at second floor level and access was difficult. The main extension to the rear was over four levels and finished in a rain screen cladding. This project was carried out in the middle of a live working environment and as such required strategic thinking in relation to methodology, sequencing and health & safety.
